West side report |
Jul 29, 2008 |
The rivers are now for real summer time low; there are good fish up around all the terminals as well as still coming up the lower rivers. The Hoh has dropped into fly-fishing shape and has some steelhead and bright kings in the lower end. Right now the Hoh is under selective gear rules and there is not supposed to be any netting going on, so as it drops the lower end should be getting better and better. It won’t be full of fish but there will be some great ones and its gonna be lonely down there. On the opposite side of that coin the Cowlitz was down enough this week for fly anglers to start to score. It will see more anglers in a day then the hoh will see fish. I’m at home for a bit working over some bright summer steelhead. Then maybe south towards the weekend.
