So while the bleach and soap go to work on a weeks worth of bait goo on my boat I’ll post a quick report. The sol duc is about the only game in town right now and it is big with snowmelt but fishable. If you were a dedicated and deep wading spey angler fishing any inside corner of the river would be give you a half way decent shot at a springer. There seem to be a decent amount of fish in the river, I just had a couple of good guys out from California and in 2 days of plugging we managed five solid hook ups with two nice fresh kings to the boat. Not wide-open but about as good king fishing as you will see anywhere right now. I went out yesterday with the dog for a bit and got my ass kicked by a great big one.
Summer run fishing is picking up and if I get the lawn mowed the weed whacker fixed and a new fence built today I might go see how many I can count at the ( ). There were some there the other day; I can’t wait till June one when it opens up.
